Pros

You won't get fired for being an employee with 0 integrity so if you are a liar and a thief you'd do well.

Cons

This company lies to you when you are hired. they will tell you that you'll have lots of opportunity but then you are put into groups and get to basically dig through old burnt out leads. The managers have people they will cover who do shady things and they will overlook it knowing its not allowed. They lie about everything and brush those with integrity under the rug. The VP of sales has her head in the clouds, doesn't actually deal with problems as they arise. She is nice but not a good leader. She just gives canned answers knowing she doesn't actually care about people. The owners of the company must know this is going on if not, that would shock me. The company is falling apart and they will continue to lose good people if they don't set some serious standards.

Pros

Paid training in aesthetic treatments without any previous experience required; 1 free monthly laser treatment (assuming you could actually get on the schedule to redeem it)

Cons

When you look past LaserAway’s curated “slay bestie!” “yasss queen” kitschy social media marketing, you’ll find that this is actually a rather disturbing company. I could write an entire novel about the kind of absolute nonsense that goes on at LaserAway, but I’ll try to keep it brief. All this company cares about is MONEY. LaserAway does not care about its employees or its patients. As a nurse, you will regularly be scrambling to not fall behind on an insanely packed schedule, including double and triple bookings. You’re rushed, patients are made to wait, patients get upset (rightfully so) and then take it out on you even though you have zero control over schedule management. As a nurse you’re working with outdated machines and using/selling LaserAway’s lousy in-house skincare line, all of which customers are tricked into paying top dollar for, some even taking out very large loans to pay for these subpar services. Sales people command the schedule and are extremely predatory, making up all sorts of fascinating lies to clinch a sale. Sometimes they will even rope nurses into their lies and pressure them to also lie to patients to help close a sale. There was actually a lawsuit filed in Washington state last month regarding LaserAway’s fraudulent sales practices, i.e. lying about “limited-time only” sales. The previous clinic I worked out of now has its employees and some of their family members submitting fake 5-star reviews to Google to artificially inflate their clinic’s ratings. That’s just plain pathetic. It’s also very telling of this company’s overall values and practices. To any potential new LaserAway customers or job applicants reading this, turn around, walk away, and don’t look back. Don’t let this company’s contrived “bestie vibesss” fool you.

Terrible management

Pros

Gets your foot in the door in aesthetics

Cons

Poor management, terrible ownership, awful culture, unethical practices, all sales, and no client care. I was constantly bullied by the manager and sales team. The sales staff would sell just to sell and patients were treated at low settings so they hardly ever got results. The goal is to force people to buy more packages but most clients just ended up being customer service issues due to lack of results and poor customer service. Being an RN here is a nightmare because we should be the ones educating and selling packages not someone with no prior experience in aesthetics with no backing on ethical practices. The sales team will constantly try to double book you to get people in so they can't refund. You work your butt off for pennies compared to what the sales girls make. Nurses are the ones with degrees and the sales people are making more. This is the only company that is like that. Everywhere else in aesthetics, nurses are the ones making 100k+ per year and that will never happen here. If you're a nurse wanting to work here either apply elsewhere or take the job knowing it's short-term just to get some experience. I'm shocked this place is still around with its terrible reviews. They are known for unethical practices in the industry and every client I have encountered since leaving this company regrets ever going here. That is why these big corporate medspas should be owned by providers, not business people. They know how to make profits but they don't know how to run a practice with integrity. Hopefully in the future laws will be put in place to stop companies like Laser Away from becoming a money grab and hurting so many people along the way. The fact that they don't dissolve filler and sell laser packages to clients with light hair should tell you everything you need to know.
