Pros

Some great perks: free lunch, snacks and drinks, PTO (4 weeks incl. sick leave), 401(k), health benefits, team events (until COVID)... There is a wide variety of processing techniques used at our labs and not one person is dedicated to one station. Easy access to a range of high quality tools in the cleanrooms provide us with an opportunity to learn a lot about different micro and nano-fabrication techniques in a very short time. I have personally not experienced it to this level in any other (larger) company that I have worked at. Our fast prototyping capabilities give us an ability to generate large amount of data quickly which is quite exciting and unique. The team is made of highly motivated, skilled and talented people which makes the day to day work very pleasant. Also the middle management is quite transparent and extremely communicative, making time to answer any questions one may have.

Cons

While it is much better now than a few years ago, work-life balance can be difficult especially when dealing with international partners since meetings in early morning/late evening can happen regularly. Some level of micro-management that can be disconcerting for some people.

Pros

Leia has an incredibly cool display and software technology. The company has an opportunity to become a de facto provider of 3D displays for all sorts of future devices. But what is even more interesting is that Leia has a plethora of good software solutions which together with the hardware forms a complete ecosystem. All the components have room for growth, which means exciting news for the hardware, the machine vision and software teams. Leia has a distributed team worldwide, and collaboration remotely is the norm. Great culture and fantastic team members are working together to make the magic happen. For those in the office, they have nice perks available. Management team is great. Lots of openness to ideas coming from anyone. There’s a palpable feeling in the air that everyone is aware that what we have in our hands is very special.

Cons

The company still operates to some degree like an R&D lab. As it transitions to a mature products company, particularly a consumer products company, it will need better organization and process.
