Just Don’t.

Pros

Well, benefits from what I understand are good. But you work your tail off to the bone. At least the paycheck doesn’t bounce.

Cons

Careful of what you say. The typical conversation and banter ends up being taken seriously and you’re being hauled in front of the manager explaining your actions during a harmless conversation. There is a lot of “special” favorites, and if you’re not one of them..well your time is short with this company. Besides that: You’re worked extremely hard, and your paid nominally at best and your sweat and effort isn’t noticed. However, make a mistake, you have a target on your back. So, make sure you have your brown nosing skills in order or you won’t go far. Don’t forget that micromanaging and constant looking over your shoulder is typical. Even if you’re working, they perceive you’re not doing your job in the first place. Management likes to not trust their employees. If you’re used to that, you’ll fit right in!

Great Company to Work for!

Pros

I have been here for a little over 7 Years! And plan to retire from this organization one day! So many dedicated top talent associates who have a passion about the work we do! I enjoy getting to work with such great talent and to work with associates from other OpCos on projects. Very diverse and challenging organization that is results driven. Great positive and energized environment and culture, company values and high integrity. Lots of opportunities for career growth and professional development within the organization and a lot of trainings available! A great place to start your career or grow in your career. Very global company and associates have opportunities to move into new roles within current OpCo or even another OpCo under Danaher. I have been able to advance in my career several times during my tenure here. Danaher Business Systems (DBS) provides great tools to drive continuous improvement activities and focus! Very results driven company and focuses on continuous improvement.

Cons

Low scores on glassdoor not justified, but you usually only hear from those who have negative review vs those who are really happy here. This is not a company for those who are not committed to working in a fast-paced environment and using tools to measure results to ensure continuous improvement. Need more work around talent brand so people who are interested in learning about our organization can hear from associates who work here and what it is that they like about working for this organization and what has made them successful.

Poor leadership

Pros

Individual contributors are some of the most clever, creative, and hard-working people you will ever meet. There are a few good managers as well and they are very protective of their people. As a Danaher company, they use the Danaher Business System (DBS), which is like a "greatest hits" of business management and lean tools. A grand vision and solid products are a hallmark of the Leica brand.

Cons

Most managers and leaders use DBS to drive their own agendas with little concern for the bigger picture and even less concern for their people. There is little to no trust between individual contributors and directors or vice presidents. Engagement is atrocious and morale is low. When numbers are high, everyone is a winner. When numbers are flat or down, the blame game begins while leaders absolve themselves of responsibility and take to hiding behind DBS to justify unfair and sometimes questionable actions directed at their subordinates. Open door policies result in closed door threats.
