The company is so hands off that you never receive any performance feedback unless you personally seek them out and ask for a review or meeting. There is no communication between the company and you while you are employed with the exception of a monthly newsletter to learn about a fellow Liaison employee at another company. After being employed by the company for years, I have still never received on-the-job performance feedback even though I have asked for performance feedback on multiple occasions.
I have heard from HR itself as well as other employees who have been with them longer than I have that you could be working on a client site for years and have changed roles within the client company multiple times and HR has no idea what your role is or how it is different from your initial role and thus your salary never increases.
Bonuses are given during the holidays at the sole discretion of the CEO even though you may only meet him for 30 seconds at a party once a year. He does not provide feedback on how you can improve your performance to qualify for a bonus, merely emphasizes that it is at his discretion.
When you first enter Liaison for interviews and employment, they bend over backwards and are extremely helpful, encouraging, friendly and open. My experience has been that working your butt off everyday, having great peer reviews and being productive are not enough to warrant you any respect from management. Unless you can connect on a very personal level with a small group of people, good luck.
