Pros

My department felt like a place where growth was really valued. I had a sense that they were investing in me as an employee. I felt that my manager was understanding and evaluated me fairly during annual reviews.

Cons

Company culture is extremely two-faced. They talk a big game about honesty, transparency, doing what's right, and valuing people. If that were the case, we wouldn't be celebrating our company's success one day and being laid off in scores the next day. The layoff was cruel, impersonal, and sudden, blindsiding everyone it affected, and has badly damaged company morale. I doubt the culture among the "little people" outside the executive team will ever really recover. Trust has to be earned. I would no longer recommend this company to anyone I know because it cannot be trusted.

Pros

Some of the people there genuinely care about what they do.

Cons

Unprofessionally laid off individuals with no notice. Did not accurately inform the business as to why the layoff occurs. Severance has been poorly managed, difficult to get responses to issues involving insurance and other matters. Overall extremely unprofessional. Seems like change is being made for the sake of change just to boosts the CTO's ego. Nepotism has run rampant making leadership a closed loop that does not listen to the feedback of employees.

Pros

The work/life balance is okay depending on where in the company you are.

Cons

I joined Lighthouse partly because I couldn't find any bad reviews online. I thought it would be a stable, sensible career transition. Ha! What an absolute mess. They grew too fast, too quickly, and I was let go 7 months after I was hired. What an absolute scam. The second they are low on work or a little scared about the economy or afraid their bonuses will be smaller than usual, they will cut you no problem. There is no loyalty, so do not be bothered showing them any either. It doesn't matter that I liked my job or the people I work with because now I'm left explaining a random 7 month stint to other employers. It was clear that they had acquired too many smaller companies and were struggling to figure out how to braid all of them together. What was made abundantly clear is that the second they figure out how to eliminate anyone or anything just to make an extra $5, they will. If you like walking around with a machete 24/7 never knowing when you'll need to use it, this is the place for you. Everyone seems nice and polite, but it's all an act as is true of just about anywhere in corporate America. They don't actually care about people. Don't drink the kool-aid.
