It's difficult to address the specifics of this due to the anonymous nature of the post. What I can offer is that we do have a brilliant team, but those brilliant people are on some very difficult accounts. We do difficult work, with world class clients, that expect a lot out of us. We have a strong brand promise that we have to live up too. It often isn't easy. Given the timing of this post, I'll share that we had a small group of team members, inventing an agile governance approach for a long standing client. Super interesting work, doing things no one has ever done before, in a situation that was creating a ton of pressure for the leadership team. C-level visibility at the client and super high expectations for tangible performance gains. We had a hiring backlog of 50 people and finding enough talented people fast enough was difficult. Tons of pressure to deliver and not enough people to do the work. All I can say is that the people assigned to that subset of the account didn't have the best LeadingAgile experience ever. Lot's of lessons learned, but I'd offer two things. The feedback here is valid, no argument. But it's reflective of a pocket of experience in a single account and not indicative of LeadingAgile as a whole. The other thing I might offer... if you are reading this and considering coming to work here... we are not an agile coaching company. We don't imbed people in teams and teach them how to be better team members. We are focused on the issues the C-suite cares about. Organizational design, governance, and metrics. Product Managment and Marketing. Strategy delegation. Budgeting and finance. Technology and architecture. Compliance. We are building and inventing models to serve our clients. We are using agile principles to solve problems that have never been solved before. It isn't easy. Sometimes things get messy. If you're willing to get messy to solve the most difficult problems in our industry you may like working here. If you want to work someplace that feels good all the time... that isn't us. Does it feel good a lot of times? Absolutely. Will it get difficult sometimes? Absolutely. You just have to know what you're signing up for.

Pros

At the point I'm at in my career, I choose "with whom" over "where" when it comes to deciding where to work. I have been really happy with my choice to join LeadingAgile. The people make all the difference. If you come to LeadingAgile, expect an opportunity to learn and share - the co-workers I have at LeadingAgile are among the best in the world at what they do. Although I consider myself to have a great deal of expertise in the areas of transformation and managing change, I find myself learning every day. But I also find people eager to learn what I know as well. At the end of the day, we're all better off for being in contact with each other. There is a collaborative, "can do" attitude among my peers - people aren't waiting for direction or someone to ask them to do something - they are proactively solving problems and delighting clients. All in all, if you're looking for a place to learn, grow, and share your expertise, LeadingAgile is a great place to be.

Cons

LeadingAgile has a definite view of how transformation takes place - it takes a bit of time to adopt their terminology, etc. But I'm finding that once I've been able to do so, many of the issues that I didn't have answers to are solved by their Base Camp model. It's definitely worth the effort I put in. LeadingAgile is also a fast-growing company (even during COVID), so sometimes we're figuring out things as we're doing them. If you want "super structured, everything's been decided" - this might not be the place for you. But if you're looking for an entrepreneural mind-set for being a member of a world-class consulting firm, I'm confident that you will find it a great experience.

Appreciate the feedback. I say to our team quite often... we have an aspirational vision for who we want to be. We don't always live up to who we aspire to be... but we do work hard every day to get closer to that vision. Very glad you've had a positive experience with us so far. Hopefully we will continue to adapt and improve.

Pros

Smart CEO that works on himself and the company Incredible consultants and clients

Cons

2nd Tier and owner are the definition of hubris. Over selling and over confident. Expect travel and to sell out to solve the problem at hand. Expect to never be recognized. Expect compartments.

Travel is always part of the game with a consultancy. Regarding the sell out comment... we try to be super transparent about what we do and how we do it. We have an approach to market that isn't main stream, but it's well documented, and in the public domain. We are indeed confident that what we do works and have the track record to prove it. My door is always open if you want to schedule a 1:1 and talk through any of these issues. As you said, I am always working on myself and working on the company... open to any conversation about how we can get better.
