Pros

A handful of good people, nice offices and superb location.

Cons

I discovered the males on my team received higher raises than the females on the team. I received less than a 1% one time raise since I joined liveramp some years ago. Raises were not determined by experience and they were given pre-pandemic before the pay freezes. People OPs is going to give a generic response about talking to them in person when they reply to this. People OPs team, by all means explain your pay gaps specific to gender here so prospective employees know whats up.

LiveRamp Response

Fellow LiveRamper - You've made a big claim here, so let me be clear: LiveRamp puts equity at the core of our pay strategy. In addition to our own internal pay equity assessments, we hire an outside firm every year to review all of our employee's pay—including stock compensation—and to flag any potential issues. The last review was completed in July 2020. Also, as a proactive measure, we train our managers on how to avoid unconscious bias during the pay planning process and ensure fair and equitable treatment in all salary increases and promotions. And lastly: Where differences in pay exist, they are based on a consistent set of factors such as the employee's location, current pay position in that market, and performance. I hope that you'll reach out to discuss further—we want everyone to understand how their pay works. - Brandon

Pros

Great Lifestyle/Benefits/Compensation such as Catered Meals/Team Outings. Liveramp is doing well and has deep pockets and is willing to spend on employees and lifestyle/perks. Flexible work schedule and unlimited vacation policy - as long as you use decent judgment and get your work done. Lots of autonomy to do what you feel will best add value to the role/company - no micromanagement. Company is a leader in its space and always undertaking new initiatives to stay that way.

Cons

Product Operations role seemed to have little to no upside in career progression with learning curve plateauing out quickly. Role had high turnover at lower levels and at team leads. In my specific team, very little room for growth or career progression. Flip side of being very hands off is that direct manager and other managers in team had the attitude that they would prefer you not need to come to them for anything. Felt like contributions/effort were not valued at all quite often - and was pretty clear from colleagues and manager that while my work, while necessary/important to operations, was undesirable. Literally zero emphasis on coaching/feedback, etc. Issues starting to show with scaling/nimbleness (for example, too many cooks in the kitchen on decisions, people feeling like their opinions aren't adequately heard or accounted for, etc). A lot of bloat in the organization, especially on the Business Development roles in the organization. Don't become penny-pinchers but rein in some of the unnecessary expenses like exorbitant T&E by employees for little good reason.

Pros

While there are tons of reasons I love working at LiveRamp, there are three things I appreciate most: 1. My fellow LiveRampers are easily some of my favorite people in the world. I think this is due to two very important things: (A) my colleagues are incredibly talented: super competent at their jobs, very thoughtful, and super hungry to grow and improve themselves. (B) They're really, really nice. LiveRampers are kind, compassionate, funny, empathetic, humble, and easy to get along with. These two things in combination make for an amazing culture of collaboration. 2. There's so much opportunity to grow not just within your role at the company, but also more broadly as a human. Through the challenges I've had the opportunity to work on at LiveRamp, I've grown more as a person than I could've meaningfully imagined when I first joined. I've come to appreciate this more and more the longer I've worked here. 3. There are really interesting, really hard technical challenges. Every good engineer loves tough problems. At LiveRamp, we have lots of them. We detail with enormous amounts of data, and have had to reinvent the way we process it a number of times to deal scale. People have a ton of responsibility, and each individual can have an enormous impact on the success and trajectory of the company.

Cons

A side-effect of moving as quickly as we do is that things sometimes break. Sometimes these systems are mission-critical and have to be fixed right away. Fire fighting isn't a lot of fun, and it's something we have to deal with. That said, it's something we're actively aiming to improve, and we've already come a long way in making this better.
