We’re sorry, and rather surprised, to hear that was your experience. In the last 2 years we have won the Torch Award for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau, and the Ethics in Business Award from the Portland Rotary. Our company is built on a foundation of transparency. We were one of the first marketing agencies to clearly list our pricing on our website. We employ a quality control team to reject potential accounts that we don’t think we can help. We have a quality assurance team to ensure we are accurately representing our capabilities, and we give our clients full access to their accounts and our work. It wouldn’t make sense to pay a team of people to NOT take accounts if we were being dishonest about anything to potential clients.

Pros

Logical Position is a great place to work. This being my first job in sales they have really provided the tools, training and mentoring to have success. Derek, Grant and Alex do a great job providing leadership and made me feel extremely welcome to be a part of the team from day one. Hard work and effort does not get swept under the rug or unrecognized. You really do get out what you put in working for Logical Position.

Cons

Not really a con but this is a sales role nothing is handed to you.

Pros

The people here are truly kind, good, hardworking folks. There is definitely an effort made by management to foster a supportive and fun environment. You are allowed a fairly high degree of autonomy (depending on the manager) which definitely reduces stress and makes the work less soul crushing.

Cons

I left this role after being offered another position with a different company. I personally saw success in this role but I can see why many do not... In the DMS role you are essentially a glorified cold caller/ telemarketer. The companies often boasts about the opportunity to “move up” but what that really means is a small pay raise and more responsibility. The only people truly making money in the sales positions are the sales managers. To put it simply, your job here is to make your manager money. The company pays virtually minimum wage and regularly tosses out people who don’t perform. The turnover here is insane. I’ve seen so many good people leave or get fired. The company doesn’t bother investing in people with potential, you either make sales or you’re gone. If you start failing to hit your sales goals, the managers often stop caring about you. It’s not out of spite, simply the nature of the business. A key thing to remember is that you’re only of use to management when making them money. Had a bad month? Sucks to be you. You generate 100% of your own leads and are paid in deals your managers close, not in qualified appointments you set. If you have a manager/ assistant manager who under performs, you in turn make no money. If you make no money, they give you the boot. This happens pretty frequently, hence the high turnover. If you can, look for work elsewhere. There are a lot of entry-level tech sales jobs that pay a living wage base salary AND have a competitive commission structure. I wish I had started looking at my options a lot sooner before staying so long. I could have been making a lot more money.

Thank you for taking the time to review the position you had at LP. This is how we continue to get better each and every year! We’re glad that you felt our company offered a kind and supportive environment, we pride ourselves on this. I want to touch on a few points that you made: * Good only for people out of college: While many LP’ers started right out of school, a high number of our BDE’s, ASM’s, Managers, GM’s, Directors, and above, started in the same position as you (DMS), and did so after working years in other industries. They were able to see a clear path to “move up” and have benefited from our amazing growth. * Small pay raise with more responsibility: Many of our Sr. DMS’s are making nearly 6 figures, and our BDE’s average over that number. Neither of those roles require additional responsibility and are extremely autonomous. * Tosses people out who don’t perform: Yes, if the company is losing money, over time, we must part ways. These expectations are clearly laid out many times before and during employment. * High turnover: We’re VERY proud of the progress we’ve made over the years. Today our turnover is only half of what it was just one year ago, and well below the industry average. We take this very seriously, and have doubled down on training, and pride ourselves on setting proper expectations prior to employment. Sales isn’t for everyone, but I’m glad that you recognize our effort to foster supportive and fun environment. At the end of the day, it’s unfortunate that you didn’t find a long-term home here at LP. We appreciate your feedback and hope that the skill and industry knowledge you learned during your time here will serve you well in your new role. -Eric Scriven, VP Sales and Marketing
