Great low level employees, but management is pitiful.

Pros

Your co-workers are very nice, everyone is pretty good at their job (this does not apply to managers, who neither do any work nor do they know what they are doing). There is a decent 401k and vacation isn't too bad. Casual dress. Half days before Christmas and Thanksgiving are also nice. Company Christmas party was usually fun, Christmas bonus was a nice touch. The appearance that the owner and senior management actually care will make you feel warm and fuzzy.

Cons

The owner and senior management don't actually care. Most of the management are in charge because at one point when the company was 30 people, they were the only person in that job function. They don't know what they are doing, aren't qualified, and certainly aren't managing anything well at all. They have been there long enough to be fully vested and the owner won't get rid of them. Prepare to do all the work, give up all of your ideas, and get no credit for anything you do. Your manager will sit in his/her office and watch the department work, then go to meetings claiming all work progress is the sole result of their skill and intelligence. Nothing could be further from the truth. The horrible management attitude comes directly from the top. In over 2 years working there, the only day the owner talked to me was the day I was hired. He never said another word to me in over 2 years. You'll quickly learn where you stand amongst the managers and senior management. You are only there to be yes men, make them money, and not to cause any difficulty. Don't be the squeaky wheel here, because they don't want to hear anything but praise and yes answers.

LCS is committed to improving our employee experience and we appreciate you sharing this feedback. We have many tools in place to promote interaction between employees and management. Some of these include regularly scheduled department meetings, new hire meeting with our President/CEO, individual touch base meetings with Human Resources, social activities, cross-functional work projects, and donuts with our President/CEO (with the sole purpose of collecting employee feedback). While we have all of these formal options in place, we encourage all of our employees to stop by and visit with any member of management at any time to share their feedback and suggestions. We are sorry you had a negative experience and wish you the best in your career.

Pros

Great employees and co-workers make LCS successful despite interference from upper management

Cons

Time is more valued than talent. i.e. Someone who is incompetent and has no experience running a department is given consideration over someone who is a shining star and proving themselves worthy via delivering results. Also, this "Technology" company has a ton of proprietary software that doesn't communicate with each other. This creates a dysfunctional company will no interdepartmental communication. Owner isn't too concerned with this and doesn't really want to join the 21st century. (They still make their customers FAX order forms!!!! Nothing is done online.)
