Pros

Great work environment, conservative well managed bank. The Bank recently announced its plans to acquire Provident Banc in Maryland, which will enhance the company's reach and growth prospects in the mid-Atlantic region. Layoffs tend to be rare and are almost always related to mergers with other banks so job security is a plus.

Cons

Lack of career advancement options if you're not part of the few selective development programs. Also, it may be difficult to meet senior management without spending at least sometimes in the headquarters in Buffalo.

Pros

Financially sound bank. Good compensation at higher levels. Respected in the community.

Cons

Hard to get recognition for accomplishments. Lots of posing for the higher-ups. Senior management seems more interested in looking good for each other than actually accomplishing something useful.

Pros

If you work hard, anything is possible. The senior management and local management staff is great; very helpful, respectful, and recognize a job well done. A lot of potential for job growth.

Cons

Market share is not huge in my area a lot of cold calling.
