Great Company with Room to Grow / Terrible Pay

Pros

The biggest pro is that everyone in the company is very kind. When corporate comes to walk the properties they are very sweet and always involved. They always make the effort to ask your opinion. A HUGE plus is they always remember your name. You don't get that with larger companies. There is also a ton of room to grow. I have worked with multiple MG Managers and they where all willing to train to get their employees to the next level.

Cons

The biggest con of them all is the pay. They pay SUCKS! Also, when you get promoted its like a slap in the face because they give such little increases. It's almost insulting. You work so hard to get to the next level and once your there the money isn't even worth it.

Pros

Colleagues were fun to talk to/collaborate with, met good people. Direct Accounting managers were great, too.

Cons

CFO talks about a “no politics” culture, but in reality, advancement is based on loyalty and unquestioning agreement with leadership, not performance or innovation. Those who make a real difference in workflow/operations are often overlooked, while those who align themselves politically with leadership are promoted. The CFO creates a culture of fear and favoritism, resulting in low morale and good talent leaving frequently. Critical thinking and independent ideas are not rewarded here — it’s a place where fitting in matters more than standing out. When I requested compensation aligned with the automation solutions I built to streamline core accounting workflows, the CFO laughed in my face, saying “it makes me laugh when someone asks for money they never earned before.” It was a clear reflection of an ego-driven leadership culture that devalues impact and rewards compliance over contribution.

Pros

I have had nothing but a great experience since joining MG. The biggest thing that makes them stand out from other property management companies is that they take you down to their corporate office in San Diego for a 4 day new hire training. It was so nice to learn about the company beginning, goals, morals and to meet the team in the corporate office. My regional manager and capital asset manager are very supportive and easy to get a hold of even though they are out of state. I have support from all sides of the company. Most of properties they own are on the larger side which is nice. Each year they send all the managers and maintenance supervisors to a leadership conference at a beautiful resort / hotel for team building and a big celebration. Definitely the best property management company I've been a part of so far!

Cons

Nothing I can think of at this time.
