Pros

Great work flexibility for employees that do not have to be in the labs every day.

Cons

Executives need to focus on investing in the backend operations of the company. Too much excel and reinventing the wheel in this siloed company. That way employees can focus on their work and not creating lengthy presentations.

Pros

Calibration team and the supervisor were pretty great. The team really tried to have a good culture and worked hard together to succeed at their goals. Super flexible with anything that came up.

Cons

IT team was terrible . Corporate had outsourced it and company never gave priority to tickets sent in unless escalated by the supervisor. Corporate was also frequently out of touch and obnoxious with policies that they put in place. They had a mandatory 30 minute lunch in place and they "wanted to make it easier for the employee" by automatically deducting 30 minutes from your time clock once you hit 6 hours.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your time at MKS. We’re glad to hear you had a positive experience with the calibration team and your supervisor. It’s encouraging to know the team worked hard together and supported one another with flexibility and a strong culture—winning as a team is important to us and of the culture we are upholding at MKS. We also appreciate your candid feedback regarding IT support and aspects of corporate policy. We understand how important timely service and communication are in helping employees stay productive. Regarding the 30-minute lunch break, MKS complies with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including with respect to mandatory rest and lunch breaks which may be required after a certain number of hours’ work. However, if you do not take a lunch break, work with your manager to ensure your time is properly recorded. That said, we understand how important it is to communicate such policies clearly to all employees, including managers, and ensure they are implemented in a way that respects our employees’ time and trust. If you'd like to share additional feedback or insights, please feel free to reach us at mks.feedback@mksinst.com. We appreciate your input and wish you all the best in your next chapter.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for being part of the Irvine team. We’re especially glad to hear your input feels heard and that you see strong business practices in place—both are essential to how we work at MKS: We believe that good decision-making starts with listening. Two-way communication and drawing on the knowledge and experience of our teams are key to continuous improvement and long-term success. We also appreciate your feedback around process and training. Streamlining how we work and creating accessible ways to build skills are both important areas, and it’s good to know that team support is helping fill the gaps in the meantime. If there’s more you’d like to share, we’d welcome your input through our Digital Dialogue program or at mks.feedback@mksinst.com.
