Pros

- Great people to work with in all departments - Tech Support and Dev are very responsive and support Sales - Fun Sales environment with plenty of "real" leads, minimal cold calls - Great Product line, been in sales for 10+ years, Flare is the best product I have sold compared to the competition - Non-saturated market, Tech Writing space has plenty of competitive takeaway and Word users still out there - Huge fan base, Customers love MadCap & Flare, easy to get positive customer references. Flare is "The Beatles" of tech writing software. - C-level & Management have been here since the beginning and really care about the future of the Company and Products -Multiple releases a year, always improving the products - La Jolla, CA is a beautiful place to work - Quotas are challenging but reachable - Pay is fair and if hitting Quota very fair -Great annual Conference - MadWorld

Cons

-No remote working opportunities -No 401k match -Traffic can be brutal, all year long -Tech Writing is a niche market, can be difficult to get approvals to purchase at times

Pros

Pretty cool environment and work/life balance. Management does not micro manage your activities on a daily basis. There is not unnecessary sales pressure unlike other places I've worked. Nice location in downtown La Jolla by the beach. Some people complain about traffic but that exists almost anywhere.

Cons

Commissions are difficult to obtain for most reps. Company has an amazing track record of growth but the expectations are far too much and reps aren't compensated. GREAT we grew 20% last year but sorry we wanted 35% so we aren't going to pay you any commission. Benefits have some great things and other horrible things. Good healthcare if you are single. No 40lK match and horrible long term disability coverage. No real room for growth in sales org.

Pros

Wow, I needed to view some other company stuff on Glass Door and was required to write a review. Can't believe all the activity I see for such a small company. I will write this in an attempt to be fair to the company and to job seekers. It's been some time since I left so I don't know what is going on lately in sales (or anything) I can say that for the most part I liked working there and had no real issues with Anthony (CEO) or anyone really.

Cons

quota growth vs last year was too aggressive. This is technical writing software, not Apple Inc. Good product but growth will take time. No opportunity for career growth in sales.
