Pros

Manhattan Associates is a good place to start as an entry level consultant. I learned a great deal about supply chain management and software implementation. I was also given a fair amount of responsibility as a new hire and had the opportunity to work with major clients. However, guidance and leadership is minimal, and it is up to you to seek out the support you need. This could be good or bad depending on your preference. Many young, intelligent and personable colleagues made the working environment more interesting.

Cons

The value of your experience is largely based on the client and project you are assigned, which evidently you have very little control of. Travel is often to desolate locations, where warehouses and distribution centers are typically located. Long hours are often required, with no additional compensation or recognition. Minimal vacation days are given. Manhattan Associates is only in the supply chain industry, so it limits your opportunity to transfer elsewhere.

Pros

Great place to start your career because there is a lot to learn in terms of technology. I was in Java/J2EE technology spectrum, and there is lot of technology in use.

Cons

Long hours. Poor coordination/leadership means you spend hours of effort to achieve a simple thing. The management even in R&D doesn't involve in technical aspects and all they care about is whether the job is done or not without any leadership/coordination/direction.

Pros

If you are a workaholic and love to learn and grow at a fast pace, Manhattan Associates is the place to be. There are lots of opportunities to learn different aspects of supply chain and one should be proactive in pursuing them and learning them. Managers are more than happy to give you responsibilities, but it is important that you deliver once you have taken up the responsibility. There are various solutions that Manhattan is developing and hence there is a lot of room to learn but it is not necessary that you will be easily transitioned to one team to another easily, especially once you are a subject matter expert.

Cons

HR is something that definitely needs to be improved at Manhattan. Many of the processes are dependent on the employee taking the initiative whereas I believe that HR should be proactive in reaching out to employees. Moreover, I would say that the compensation could be definitely better keeping in mind the long hours consultants and analysts spend doing the work. There could be an added travel related benefits in terms of cash or some other perks.
