-Back to back endless calls, absolutely no breaks between calls, not even a second and because it automatically picks up on the 3rd ring, you're now on another call whether you're ready for it or not.
-No paid breaks, which I kinda understand if I'm working a couple hours a day but working 4 hours should definitely come with at least a 10 minute break, I know you don't legally HAVE TO give part time employees breaks, but it's the ethical thing to do, especially as the nature of your call center doesn't allow us to breathe for even 2 seconds before the next call.
-Forced to tolerate and even be friendly with abusive callers. Even fast food and retail workers are allowed to deny service to abusive customers but we are not allowed to hang up, transfer them, and if we aren't friendly with them it affects our stats. There is one particular customer that would always call on Saturday nights and he was sexually abusive, and I had to put up with that.
-Pointless QA coaching every 2 weeks. So you mean to tell me your job is to sit down and listen to and criticize the people who are actually doing the work ? I've never seen a more pointless position in a job. I was unfairly micromanaged and they made me lose marks for silly things that even my supervisor thought was ridiculous.
-Vague personal break stats. So we're not entitled to any breaks so taking a break affected our stats, even when I would work extra vacancy hours, I would fail stats for taking a few breaks. The goal is to "keep personal breaks to as close to 0% as possible" but this is quite vague and my supervisor wouldn't explain to me a reasonable percentage.
I ended up getting let go even though I did improve quite a bit and my supervisor told me my stats were super close and nothing too alarming. I do believe me disclosing about my respiratory issues and needing to take a break because of chest tightness hurt my chances. Because I was let go shortly after disclosing that.
