Thank you for the candid feedback. We regret that you did not appreciate the work environment for the short time that you were with us. Working as a virtual receptionist is a fast-paced occupation. When you add to that the uncertainty and changes that come when one business is acquired by another, we see how things can appear chaotic or disorganized. You raised a number of concerns, which we will address in order.
With respect to your comments regarding our retirement plan, we are not sure what the concern here actually is, or what was proposed but not followed through. MAP has an extremely generous retirement plan that allows employees to contribute to a 401(k) plan. In addition, MAP makes annual employer funded contributions to its ESOP allowing all employees to enjoy the benefits of equity ownership. In particular, MAP specifically amended its ESOP to allow participation by all employees of the acquired company for 2022 even though the acquisition did not occur until November of 2022. Furthermore, MAP gave all employees of the acquired company a very generous set dollar contribution based upon tenure, regardless of their compensation and regardless of whether they were contributing to the 401(k) plan or not. The ESOP contributions are reflected in the ESOP certificates that are to be delivered by the end of May, and are being mailed to all participants next week, as promised.
On your commentary surrounding training, if you are referring to the training that is essential to support the new acquisition onto MAP’s systems, MAP cares greatly about employee training and investment. What you may have perceived as unprofessional would likely be related to the systems which were being developed in real time in collaboration and partnership with the acquired company’s employees to ensure the best customer and virtual receptionist experience. This real time input and development can appear disorganized or inefficient but evidences the flexible approach MAP employs in all of our business endeavors with our employees and in our customers-first attitude.
On the remote work comment, MAP does employ an in-office philosophy and believes that collaboration, employee engagement, and workplace culture are best served when people work together in a common location. While that may be the core philosophy, and contrary to your assertion, MAP does support remote work in several job functions; however, in connection with the acquisition and training of the acquired company’s employees it was requested that systems training for certain key functions be done in person and remote workers in these job functions were requested to travel to their home office for 1 only week to attend this training. This was done to achieve the greatest level of understanding, retention and real time question and answer, and was done purposefully to solicit questions and input from these employees.
Finally, while you may have had your own opinions on the systems and software, MAP has received feedback from all levels of employees at the acquired company that recognize and applaud the intuitiveness of its systems and the ease of use. Constructive feedback has also been a core portion of the process, and we pride ourselves on listening to our teams and our customers to continue to enhance our systems. Furthermore, customer feedback following their conversion to the new systems has delighted in the additional features and plug and play efficiency of the system.
