Pros

None. I can't think of anything positive to say.

Cons

Micro manage. Doesn't listen to employees in branches. They bought a great company to work for and tore it down. Over 80 percent of the employees have left this company and the morale for the ones left is terrible.

Employees don't matter much

Pros

You will have an income.

Cons

You'll have no personal time! In the beginning you are told you'll have more family time than you did with Sunbelt companies but that was not true. You feel more like a prisoner than an employee and they will let you know there is someone waiting to replace you if you don't comply! You are told you can not leave work until you reach the goal they set. You need a degree to advance in the company but if you do not have a degree and try to attain one, you wont have time because you are always at work! Overtime is mandatory, not optional. You choose between having a job or attending to your families. You work during normal business hours and only get a half an hour lunch break so you do not have time for ANYTHING! You do not get paid enough for what you do. Training was not helpful because everyday there is something new that you were not trained on. The goals set are unrealistic and everything is a secret from the employees. A lot of customers have skipped out on this company because of their ridiculous lending standards. Following regulations is one thing but being down right ridiculous to good customers is another!

Pros

Good co workers, decent pay, there are opportunities for advancement within the company although there is a reason for that as I will explain below

Cons

If you work for another consumer finance company do not be fooled into coming to work for this company being promised greener pastures and ample opportunity for advancement particularly if it is for Mariner South which is NC and FL. While there is opportunity for advancement it is because the upper management particularly from the Vice President's level on up is horrible employees are constantly leaving because of unrealistic goals and the continued insistence to pursue strategies that all employees know will fail. If you come to work for this company what you can expect is working at times 50 plus hours a week if you are a manager working at least 2 Saturdays a week till 2pm probably more b/c of delinquency staying till 9pm on the last day of the month regardless of what your numbers are and being treated with a total lack of respect from upper management. Upper management in this area does not recognize improvements they only notice one thing did you hit the goal they set out if you didn't then you will be treated like an idiot that doesn't know anything. Also you might be told that the working on Saturdays is a temporary thing until delinquency improves I'm here to tell you it is not delinquency will never improve to the levels they want b/c they are continuing to pursue that same failed strategies that got them into this mess in the first place.
