Pros

- Leading Medical Care in the Field - 24/7 ER and ICU - Constantly Improving Patient Care and Self Double/Triple-Checking - Good Health Benefits for Staff, including Prorated PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, Guaranteed Life Insurance, etc. - High Standards in Every Respect when it comes to Patient Care - Excellent Learning Environment - Merit-based hiring that promotes diversity and competent staff

Cons

Susceptible to the same Corporate drawbacks as any other Corporation I.e.: - Cutting hours and laying people off to make quotas - Hardline policies that do not account for nuance and can discompassionate or even straight up inhuman at times. - Competent, hard workers may feel persecuted or be put on the chopping block, due to policy or "financial constraints". - Losing staff and electing not to fill vacant positions to appease the budget/revenue, thus putting more stress on the remaining staff - Interested in Self-Preservation and the Bottom Line (revenue) over Floor Workers It is also very hard to maintain a work/life balance, especially with changing schedules/staff and being on-call. We are also no longer allowed to pursue school at work - even if the work is directly-related or part of the program that Medvet is partnered with.

We appreciate your feedback. At MedVet, we strive to foster a positive and collaborative environment at every hospital. We have focused significantly on enhancing our Employee Experience, which has been inclusive of focusing on our career framework which supports continued growth and development within current roles and setting employees up for success for promotions. Furthermore, we focus on stress management and wellbeing initiatives such as offering free subscriptions to mental wellbeing apps, along with our Employee Assistance Program with easy access to resources and more. We hope this will continue to support and promote healthy ways of dealing with stress so everyone can be the best version of themselves when they are doing what they love. If team members feel concerned in any situation, local management, our HR partner, and regional management are always available and interested in understanding these issues and working on a resolution.

Pros

Incredible company that embraces teamwork and rewards those that work hard. Work- life balance is a priority here. If you're a positive, honest person, you will flourish here. Incredible growth opportunities. Some really amazing doctors/ leaders here. Good benefits. Great friends. Highly recommend to my friends and family.

Cons

High turnover rate, but that's been improving. I think that has been based off of hiring more quality individuals who actually care about their job. Can be a high stress environment, especially in the summer when the work load intensifies. Some doctors elevate the stress. Clients can be really mean, but there's also a lot of nice ones. The stress of being at the ER often brings out their negativity though.
