Pros

Benefits and uniform allowance are perks

Cons

New employee training and orientation needs much improvement. I have been evaluated 4 times in the 6 months I've worked here. I am expected to report to 2 supervisors. One of my supervisors doesn't speak to me unless I speak to her first. I have had maybe 2 conversations with her my entire employment. I do not feel I have been properly trained for my position. The only reason I have stayed is because of the phenomenal co workers who have stepped up to the plate to attempt to train me on their own. It is a supervisor's job to make sure their staff is properly trained. I have experienced 2 seperate instances where a pet was handled roughly by a doctor/staff and someone was seriously bitten. Not only is this bad for the person who was bit it creates lasting trauma to that pet. Both were cases where we knew pet was a caution and animal was not restrained properly or humanely.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm glad you brought up these issues. I'll flag them to our new Regional Hospital Director in the NE Ohio Regional so she can follow up with the team at Akron. It sounds like you're on the clinical team versus the front desk, but it's a smaller hospital so we'll circle back with the whole team if needed.

Pros

This is a company that really listens to its employees, and actually cares about them. The pay is competitive, and the benefits package is exceptional. Management makes a concerted effort to understand the needs and wants of the average employee.

Cons

Nights, weekends, and holidays are what you work, but that is always true when you work in emergency medicine. A sincere effort is made to give you requested days off, even some holidays.

Thanks so much for the feedback! We know nights, weekends, etc., can be challenging, which is why we do offer shift differentials. I'm glad to hear that PTO requests are working well in your location; that's something we are working on.

I appreciate you taking time to write a review and I agree that CSRs are a critical part of our experience -- you are the first person people talk to and make a big difference in their experience. Recognition was a common issue for our hospitals to work on based on employee survey results. I'm not sure who you've shared your feedback with. I'll be there next week and we also have a new HR Partner who will be there next week as well. I know he'll want to hear from folks there as part of his onboarding.
