Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. I'm not sure where you work, but if you have concerns about management I encourage you to surface those. If you know who your HR partner is, that would be a good person to talk with. We know burnout is an issue in our industry; we have just announced our enhanced Employee Assistance Program (EAP). ALL employees (even those who aren't on our benefits) have access to the EAP which includes 6 counseling sessions per situation. We want to help our team members take care of themselves.

Pros

Some really amazing co-workers who made stressful shifts more bearable!

Cons

The MedVet Chicago location is one of the most disorganized, understaffed, and misguided places to work for. The leadership as the highest levels do not care about their employees at all. The only thing important to this organization is how much money they can squeeze out of their customers and employees alike!

I appreciate you taking the time to write a review. We know there are some key leadership roles to fill in Chicago and things are always harder when those jobs are open. I hope that before you left, you shared your feedback in our Employee Experience Survey or with your HR contact. Please know we are working hard to improve things for employees at our locations. Having worked at a number of organization prior to MedVet, I have to disagree with your statement about "squeezing" money out of employees and clients. We made significant investments in our 401(k) match this year, improved our healthcare benefits without increasing employee costs, and just made big enhancements to our EAP program. Unlike some of the competition, MedVet is not owned by a big company or run by a private equity firm -- we're 80% owned by our employees and we do make long term decisions vs. trying to maximize short term financial gains. Thanks!

Pros

I've worked for a few other companies that I was happy with, but this is the first place that I've ever worked where I felt like the company really cared about me and what happens to me and everyone else that works there. The compensation is very competitive, and the benefits are excellent. PTO is very generous.

Cons

Like anywhere, there can sometimes be scheduling issues, and overtime worked. But, I feel that it's all within reason and we're fairly compensated for it. You are expected to work nights, holidays and weekends, but this is an expectation that is set from the time you start.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. As you may know, communication was an area that was identified in our recent Employee Experience survey as an area where we needed to improve across the organization. So I'm not surprised you feel that is something that needs to get better. Also, I would encourage you to TAKE your PTO -- I know it's hard in a busy hospital, but we want to make sure that our employees get time off to recharge.
