Pros

Innovative products. Room for growth. Very well looked after. If you have ambition, passion and drive this is the company to work for. Meridian has a great molecular platform that is positioned perfectly for the current economic climate in the health sector. Meridian is also well know for their immunoassay products, and all you have to do to sell those is have a discussion about best practices with the lab. I have read some of the other reviews on here and they are absolutely ridiculous. Obviously, they have been posted by sour sales reps, who will never cut it in their next jobs, or jobs after that. I have a territory and I am meeting my plan, if you manage your time appropriately and make appointments then you will have no problems (like any job). Those that like to win, will have a job for life. I highly recommend Meridian if you want to climb the career ladder.

Cons

No cons for Meridian - great incentives, great benefits. The only "con" is that the molecular diagnostic market is very competitive. However if you want to be a part of greatness then you will have no issues, if you don't like to work an 8 hour day (like the rest of the world) then don't bother looking for a job in the medical industry.

Pros

Slightly better than being unemployed. Field sales team consists of either unemployed sales professionals, recent college grads looking to break into sales or people who have been lied to.

Cons

If you thrive in a micromanagement environment, then MBI is the company to work for! Ride alongs with management, product managers and any warm body that can be found in the home office, every 4-5 weeks consistently. Regional Management has little to no experience leading and directing a sales team. Delusional expectations for sales call metrics, annual goals, and the push to sell and promote a sub par target product. Salaries and overall compensation are NOT in line with the industry standards for molecular diagnostics Reps. Meridian Bio has turned over roughly 2 sales forces in the past year due to their "New Culture" mentality. Average life of a Rep. is 6-9 months. Lack of respect towards sales force due to incompetency and ignorance. Watch for red flags and being set up for failure. 90% or over the plan goal may buy you groceries at the end of the week. This is an entry level position!!

Pros

Meridian has excellent products. The other field sales reps are very supportive and willing to help brainstorm a troublesome account. Inside Sales Reps extremely helpful. You can rack up some frequent flier and hotel rewards points Can be an opportunity to get into medical sales Once you realize these reviews aren't exaggerating and begin job searching/interviewing, prospective employers have likely already interviewed other meridian sales reps and know why you're looking to move on

Cons

The pay is you receive does not coincide with how much you work (80%+ travel, office days strongly discouraged, 20 accounts/wk and 50 contacts/wk minimum, calls from RM evenings and weekends) You quickly realize that you can't trust anyone in the home office. The management will deny on Tuesday what they guaranteed on Monday. With the exception of 1 (maybe 2) region(s), your RM will micromanage you. If you're really lucky your RM will call your accounts to see if you actually visited them. You'll hear a lot about how the home office wants you to let them know of any major issues, concerns or areas you see that need to be improved. Don't do it. You'll be accused of not being a team player and not being "Meridian Strong".
