Pros

Pay was great, nothing else.

Cons

The hiring manager hired me, and retired 2 weeks later. They didn't replace her for 4 months. No one interacted with me for 4 months. I received no training except for rude comments from management. When I asked for help, they refused. Once the new manager showed up, I had hope. But she was frustrated with how little I had been taught (and I think she didn't know either). I only lasted 6 months. Good luck. Terrible insurance too.

Pros

The work that MetroPlus does for the community is commendable. I think that the CEO has a good pulse on the needs of their membership and as such, the entire organization is focused on providing a good solution to the customer base. There are quite a number of intelligent people working for the company- Simran Kaur is a gem and as is Ganesh. They are truly great leaders and will always be thankful for the time I worked with them, as I learned a lot.

Cons

When I worked there, the environment was a bit chaotic and there was very little strategic direction. We moved from one initiative to another sometimes not fully vetting things but placing too many resources only to change directions. I respect Dr. Schwartz for her accomplishments and she is a very kind person at heart-but I think one area to focus on is the hostility in different areas of the organization. I experienced it a lot there and it came to a point that it was just best to leave- as I don't have that kind of personality and since it is prevalent- no immediate changes were going to take place.

Pros

Pays well, but health benefits are surprisingly limited despite working for a health insurance company Remote position, but has since started requiring 2 days a week in the office Difficult to be fired, low expectations

Cons

Poor communication No bonuses/raises/promotions within 3 years Top-down business practices, management often take ideas from lower staff and pass it off as their own Management has poor attitude/generally low morale Policies constantly change but are not written, everything oral and intentionally confusing Have enforced illegal policies regarding COVID time off and requiring doctors notes for a single day of absence, NYC labor board has intervened for me twice.
