Pros

It's probably a good place to work if you're a teller / banker, but not so for any kind of internal non-customer facing position.

Cons

Management seems to think that everyone should follow a special culture and is out of touch with reality. They'll have you sit through upwards of 50 hours worth of customer service training and hearing about their company "isms" instead of letting you actually work. This goes for anyone, not just customer-facing positions. They value personality more than talent and don't know how to properly manage their resources within the departments. Lack of experience and friend to friend hiring / promoting results in poor corrupt management, which is basically what this is.

Pros

Pay is great and loved the branch staff. My new ABM was excellent to work with.

Cons

Incentive plan stinks. Very unethical with goals, people taking each others loans. Since a brand new incentive plan was launched in 2020, its now being very goal heavy and cut throat. Even managers from our traditional locations are stealing loans. Also, the area avp of west michigan branches is so full of herself. Everything, no matter how small, has to go through her. You can't ask anyone else in the company for assistance. Its her and only her. Oh, and she yells if we don't get on the call center queue's. We have a branch to run. If you are so worried about the numbers and us taking calls, take some yourself please. You have the same systems we do in the branches. You always said to leave by example. She doesn't make all the staff take the calls. Somehow he gets away with it because his branch is so loan driven. His staff also hangs out in the lending queue all day. Takes like 5 loan calls and makes others finish them for her because she can't keep up.

Pros

The headquarters facilty is beautiful. There's a bowling alley, restaurant, and more.

Cons

The management structure is inconsistent, severely short-staffed, unreasonable work conditions. Expectations for new employees are high while training is extremely poor. Favoritism is loudly shown to certain employees by leaders. Leaders are not on the same page and often blame employees for their shortcomings.
