Pros

You are able to have a flexible schedule.

Cons

Upper management does not have a clue. They think that if they bring in temps every 6 months it saves money. It doesn't! They are losing money by having people train the temps all the time. Then the permanent employees have to clean up the mistakes the temps make. Also, they continue to play favorites with certain employees. They allow these people to treat their co-workers terribly without saying anything to them even if there are complaints. And if certain employees do not get their way they threaten to quit or retire to get what they want.

Pros

Salary is somewhat competitive with other companies in the Des Moines area for now. Soon to be broken bonus program is competitive but that is drastically changing this year.

Cons

Minimal merit increases - around 2% a year...cutting bonus program.msking huge cuts across the company including cutting jobs. It's a volatile place to work right now. No flexibility. Yearly reviews are bell curve system now ..someone has to be rated high-15% med70% low 15%...ridiculous and demotivating.

Pros

Good, knowledgeable, hard working staff. Salaries and benefits used to be competitive. Now employees have to look outside of company for market based pay and advancement opportunities.

Cons

Understaffed, expected to consistently work more than 40 hour each week. Mistakes not tolerated and can result in termination. Older employees pushed towards retirement to hire young, inexperienced cheaper resources. Salary increases 2 percent max annually. Benefits not competitive and employee performance incentive being reduced as part of aggressive cost containment measures. This will result in pay cuts for the majority of the staff. However, CEO continues to make 30M a year. Company does not invest in employee training. Company offers tuition reimbursement but is more likely to deny than approve the request. Bleak, low morale work environment.
