Pros

• Truly superior sales training, starting with basic lead generation, on to account management, advanced negotiation skills, etc.; you're instructed on and off the desk from Day 1 • You are doing real business with real companies while you're still very green; within 30 days you're responsible for building new clients and making business deals at a stage where at another agency your role might be limited to candidate sourcing for 12 months or more • Significant income growth for top producers within a few years; it's not easy to get to that stage of course, but if you're a commissionable employee on a top 25% percentile team you'll be earning more than most of your peers in other industries outside of finance, or without an MBA • You can build a strong network; high-level people at impressive companies know your name, and depend on you to solve business problems, and if you do it well, your reputation will last • If you're on the agency side, you're getting an education in entrepreneurial corporate culture; your boss will will try his/her best to be a mentor and share battle stories, client lore, business etiquette, where are the best restaurants in Midtown, etc., and the level of personal attention to employees is high at every stage of your career • Following that last one...if you like the job, and if you get good at it, you can become a manager yourself in an average of 1.5 years; all of sudden now you're in a position to teach others what you've learned, inspire your team, look after your business, and hopefully become a leader worthy of trust

Cons

•The nature of inside sales, regardless of what company you work for, is a lot of time at the desk and on the phone, coupled with pressure to produce, which can have the effect of sending less experienced business people on something of an emotional roller-coaster; this is not unique to the Workbridge Associates or to Motion Recruitment Partners, and sales remains a challenging way to make a living, and even the most stern and steady professional can get burned out after a while • Because sales and recruiting is a team operation, everyone needs to be there, in the office, doing the same thing at the same time to accomplish team goals; for this reason your schedule is extremely rigid, and it's a challenge to maintain focus while spending unbroken hours at the desk, especially when you're junior in the business and you don't have people to manage, meetings to write, clients to visit, etc.

Pros

Not everyone's looking for a job to become their own entrepreneur. This is one of the few jobs that you can harness your ambition and get a chance to move up in an organization that is constantly in need of new leaders. It takes a very innovative company to embrace change the way Stride has - and people need to recognize that. Simple fact: 70% of Fortune 500 companies in 1975 have been replaced by more innovative and progressive companies. I come to work every day motivated to work with great, motivated people with amazing ideas and I leave work inspired to make it better the next day.

Cons

There are a lot of people bitter out there that the story here didn't work for them or the experience they had wasn't positive so they spend their career trying to drag us down. No matter how much Stride has listened and adapted to those concerns, you still hear old war stories from years ago saying that we're the same company, and that's simply not true. The con is that old rep that continually surfaces out there despite the changes we've made. I prefer to a company committed to getting better as opposed to one that refuses to change. Believe me, I've quit the company before and have come back because it's a rare thing to see this.

Pros

Stride provides career and personal growth for those who take advantage of it. In my 3 years with the company, I've received 2 promotions and I'm now in a position to make over $100K this year, (which is insane for someone who is only 25 years old). I've learned how to communicate effectively and I've been groomed into a consummate business woman. I take pride in what I do and I look up to senior management and respect them for all they've done for my career. The people, environment, and culture of Stride is unlike anything else!

Cons

Sales and business development isn't for everyone. When I was entry level, I never considered a career in sales, let alone recruiting. I thought I would be better suited in the marketing, PR, or advertising industry. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and perseverance. If you don't want to be challenged or push yourself to be successful, this isn't the opportunity for you. That being said, I'm glad I took the risk. I'm a much better person for doing so.
