Pros

1) Basically everyone in the office will be aged 22-30, great way to make friends 2) Fun company events

Cons

This is the worst job I've ever had in my life. If you are a new graduate and see Motion at your college job fair run in the other direction. They purposefully hire exclusively new grads/young people with a vague job description to lure in bright-eyed people who are desperate for a job and willing to work hard. The turnover rate here is insanely high- most of your friends will quit within a year if they even make it that long. Some of the many cons that come to mind: 1) In a crappy market aka right now this job is impossible to do. It's 80/20 sales/recruiting. You will be cold calling for 3-6 hours a day, bothering people who want absolutely nothing to do with you or your service. You will find yourself lying to candidates and clients because that's the only way to get things done. If you have a soul, you'll feel guilty after your first month here 2) Third party staffing agencies are an outdated thing, as literally every tech company has internal recruiters. There is no room for you in the industry 3) You have to do 8-10 deals to make commission, which is insanely high, so essentially you aren't making commission until after a year's gone by. Motion is basically a pyramid scheme- those 8-10 deals you make, all the commission from that goes into your manager's pocket. The higher up you are on the chain of command, the more money you make from each deal. Which is why managers and directors are constantly cussing out employees to do better, because it effects their take home check. You will feel so burnt out watching all the money from your hard work land in someone else's wallet 4) Insane micromanagement. Prepare to literally never be left alone, whether you're in office or working from home. You will have 2-3 meetings a day with your team where you have to spell out exactly what you've accomplished and what you have left to do. 5) Benefits are TRASH. PTO and sick days are lumped together which is essentially unheard of in 2023. So if you get sick for a week (and they don't care about covid anymore) then you're forced to use your PTO. 6) Base pay is TRASH. They lure you in with the promise of commission and being a six-figure earner after a year. 7) You will get cussed out by upper execs a lot, basically telling you to do better and that you're replaceable. They've made it very clear that they do not give a damn about any of their employees, and that's why the turnover rate is so high Trust me, you will hate your life here. This place is literally a glorified pyramid scheme. If you are not an extreme extrovert with no moral compass, you won't be able to stay here more than six months.

Pros

I learned a lot about dealing with incompetence in the work place

Cons

It’s not the micromanagement or the cold calling that left a bad taste in my mouth. Instead, it was the fact that the management made it very clear that only one thing mattered; deals. They would promote people with zero emotional intelligence as long as they hit certain numbers. Because of this, you MAY end up like me and have a boss or team lead who is not ready for leadership. Unfortunately if someone is "billing," everything else can be overlooked, including racism (constantly imitating Indian accents and saying African American candidates don’t interview well) and misogyny (spending more time talking about how candidates who happen to be women look than talking about their qualifications). If they have “the numbers,” the Director will have their back. I witnessed a manager physically assault another employee. That employee was moved to another region while the manager continued in their role. I could go on about the toxic culture and Kool-Aid drinking, but just know that there are less stressful ways to gain sales or recruiting experience!

Pros

you jump in fast, you’re not waiting around or hoping one day you’ll get to the action. You’re trained efficiently and then able to do the job!

Cons

Horrible managament. I was astounded! I have worked other jobs and have played high level sports my entire life, I love a challenge and constructive criticism, but I was being pathologically lied to, always criticized, micromanaged. I sat 6 inches from the office manager. There is no trust. Very low maturity, the management created drama and control out of own insecurity. I wish I could go into specifics on here lol!!
