Pros

Benefits, no micromanagement , great experience with Regional Managers, really talented sales force, great product at the beginning. ....................... ....

Cons

Constant change in Comp plan, Main Portfolio of products stripped from 4 to 1. With 1 week notice. Putting out fires, dealing with competitors swooping in that provided the products we no longer offered. Keeping the price the same to patients after removing half of the panels that used to included. Unrealistic adjustments to the quotas as a result. Significant decrease in revenue generation, and compensation as a result. Myriad has several divisions which are great, but Neuroscience unfortunately has nothing in the pipeline and the flagship product GeneSight is sinking fast because of FDA skepticism and demand for changes. This problem isn't going away. Don't take a job selling GeneSight.

Pros

There is a certain camaraderie in being treated as small, replaceable cogs in a machine with a history rich in questionable ethics. The schedule can be nice if you are willing to get paid less than full time and less than competitive market wages. Benefits have been in steady decline and the supposed forecast from the ivory tower is grim.

Cons

Middle management is too engaged in political theater to effectively do their job. Data itself is politicized and treated as hostages for brownie points with the boss. Upper management literally refer to technicians as "head's", as in: "We need to chop more heads this quarter". The production side of the company is systemically underpaid compared to both state and national averages. The ensuing environment is incredibly toxic and highly prone to political behavior that is appallingly counterproductive.

Pros

The mission of the company keeps people there even when their compensation should drive them out of the company. That speaks a lot about the mission. Workers believe in the life saving mission of the company, and in the quality of the work being done. Great benefits.

Cons

It is unclear whether or not upper management believes in the mission of the company as much as the regular every day worker. I know at the end of the day it is all business, but it is disheartening when leadership clearly have the almighty dollar in mind, and all the lower level employees are trying to figure out how to best serve the patient in spite of upper management. Upper management does not reflect the demographics of the rest of the company. Too few women are in upper management.
