Company needs more recognition as a great employer

Is very conservative about backfilling. This can be a con depending on the role and need but on the flipside they don't get stuck having to do layoffs.

Apart the fact that this kind of job was not for me, I cannot think of any cons

I left arbor about 2 years ago and was pretty happy to leave. Definitely a caste system in place between support and engineering. Because of this it's a fairly toxic work environment if you're not on the engineering side of things. I also noticed the folks who were into playing politics got the promotions, such a waste from when I started with Arbor. Because of this you have folks who barely have an idea technically (think power point jockeys who try to be technical but aren't) being put in charge over technical folks (when I was there this was more the exception on the engineering side of things). The other thing to be aware if is career growth is really limited. On the engineering side of the house it looked like there was some room for growth. But elsewhere there wasn't much

While company very responsive to customer needs, it sometimes takes time for strategic shifts to be communicated throughout the company

Lots of maintenance / overhead work

Organizations are very silo-ed. Little meaningful interaction with other teams other than through project managers. Some departments are very process oriented, many people lack curiosity about the technology and share knowledge unless they have to. Concerned that this company won't be able to innovate in the future.

No work/life balance and old-school culture

Some director level employees are callus and don't seem to know what they're talking about (this could be 1 or 5 directors- I will not specify) HR has been unprofessional when handling intimate matters Increase in employees leaving the company
