Pros

Some departments, particularly executives are paid very well.

Cons

The rest of staff is left to fight for crumbs. Pay at NLU is remarkably lower than industry averages.

Going down hill

Pros

Good benefits, good work-life balance.

Cons

Low morale among employees. People are overworked, confused as to what management wants. Poor communication between lower level employees and leadership. Leadership looks for improvements where improvements are not needed creating chaos and high stress levels among employees. Good people are quiting or are on a verge of quiting. Micromanaging. No raises:(

We couldn't agree more, NLU benefits are good and the work-life balance just showcases how much of a family environment we really are. Management has made a great effort to share the strategic plan and the direction of the University. I hope you take the time to attend the next address and to check out the plan on our internal website. Thank you for all your hard work.

Pros

The only pros of working here are if you can find relationships with decent people in a pile of literal garbage humans.

Cons

Everything. From the first second i started, it was horrible and tense. They switched my position 3x for with no discussion or consent from myself. I was literally not a part of the conversation. They switched my offices 5x and we also switched Chicago neighborhoods. People there are all about money and survival. Everyone fighting for respect they will never ever get from upper management.
