Leadership makes huge changes and decisions that directly impact students and employees, but do not actually work with students or employees. The decisions that they make do not make any sense because they are not actively working with the people that the changes impact. Students repeatedly say "why do I have so many advisors" "why are you handing me to someone else" "I am confused, who is my advisor". Instead of combining roles and spreading out the work load they eliminated important departments that were never the problem that the students were complaining about. They made our FA and Credential advisors become AAs. Eliminating our credentials team eliminated a huge resource and support for the student experience and has caused confusion, frustration, and huge delays in responses and processes. They eliminated the military team even though we are a veteran founded school. Leadership decided that we should eliminate a department that is the very core of the university. Students are telling your employees what they want and leadership is paying outside 3rd party companies to "solve problems" when in reality they are so far detached from the people in the trenches that they cannot possibly help students. Constantly being yelled at, called names, and demeaned by leadership and students takes a huge toll on your mental and physical help. Then the cherry on top, after being put through actual hell, they decide to take away yearly raises and then say nothing to employees. When I was hired I was promised a 5% yearly raise, then when we merged we were promised a 4% raise in July 2022 and that it would be a recurring raise for all employees. Then in 2023 we get a 0% raise and leadership explains that they have made a conditional expectation to give an unknown percentage of raise in January 2024 if the company decides to give the raise in January. The leadership for the Enrollment Specialist team has no idea how to train, manage, or motivate their team. We are constantly thrown to the wolves! We are not properly trained and when we make a mistake our leaders do not take responsibility or help us to understand our mistakes. We are told to be in ready and take phone calls and then disciplined when we cannot get our work done. We cannot get our work done because we are constantly answering calls that bring in additional work that we simply do not have time to do. I used to love this role, now it is a constant revolving door of employees quitting and then leadership hiring people that have no idea what they are doing. If the school does not get rid of toxic leaders it will be the next school to file bankruptcy and close down.
