Pros

Training is insane and you meet a lot of really cool people from all the different cities where NTG offices are located. The owner throws keggers and takes you out to karaoke bars and bowling alleys with tons of food and free booze. The people you work with are pretty sweet, office is laid back (people literally wear sweatpants to work and sit at their desks with chewing tobacco in their mouths all day). Loud music if you're into a crazy work environment.

Cons

Managers EXPECT you to be there at 7:30 and absolutely no one leaves at 5:00. Managers also pressure you to take a short lunch even though that's your one solace from the phones all day. People stay until like 6, and sometimes 7pm, and then you're expected to be available 24/7 to talk to lost truck drivers or angry customers. In my personal experience, some stuff went down with a truck over on the east coast and I literally had a manager tell me to lie to my customer to cover up a mistake. He literally pulled me aside one day when I told him I wasn't going to lie to customers and said "Honey, you're in the wrong business if you can't lie". I knew then that this was NOT the industry, or the company for me.

Immature Company

Pros

Decent pay, great health benefits, laidback dress code, easy interview process.

Cons

This company is unethical and unprofessional. Lying and cheating customers and carriers out of their money is not only allowed but encouraged. The hours are long and the work is stressful. Lots of screaming on the phone. There's also after-hours work; one person has to take the after-hours phone for a night or weekend every few weeks and answer calls throughout the night. Some of the managers are completely unqualified for their positions and are incredibly rude and insulting to their fellow employees. The work culture is entirely immature- constant yelling and swearing. I've seen employees and even managers show up to work clearly hungover or still drunk. I've frequently heard innappropriate remarks and stories and HR isn't confidential so there's really no one to talk to. I had some great co-workers in my office and made some friends, but as a whole, the company is immature. It's a great straight-out-of-college gig but don't take a job here if you're looking for a professional position.

Thank you for your feedback and review. We are happy hear that you find many positives in the culture and benefits structure of our company. We value and consider all feedback and reviews. The job of operations specialist is not an easy one, in fact no job in our industry is easy. Our relaxed dress environment and loud, lively office culture are important to our company and our employees. We strive to create a work environment that our employees enjoy coming to, so they can perform at their best. We are disappointed to hear about your negative experience. Any employee, previous or current, was hired for their drive, communication skills and dedication because with all three an employee can launch a job with NTG into a successful, professional career. Thank you for the work you did for us and we wish you the best in your professional career!

Pros

most colleagues are friendly, outgoing, and willing to help teach the transportation industry. There is opportunity to succeed if you are handed the right accounts and already know a great deal about managing your own operations for customers. Fun work environment, very laid back work attire.

Cons

Nolan's employees are disposable, and that is made clear by the high volume of employees they fire. They are looking for the next hire straight out of college so they can manipulate them to not questions the system. You will have to lie daily with this job. Management picks favorites and set many up for success while others for failure. Employees are let go with minimal to no warning, and the main objective of Nolan is to sell the company to investors effective immediately, which creates palpable tension for employees in the work environment.
