Pros

Location. River North is a great area.

Cons

“Employees don’t quit their job, they quit their boss.” Working at Trunk Club was such an unfortunate experience. I was one of the unlucky ones working under a manager who was extremely unprofessional and a bully behind closed doors. I spent five months working my hardest to earn my manager’s respect thinking it was my fault. When I finally talked to others on my team everyone was so shocked and said things like “Really? I thought I was the only one getting bullied.” When I discovered all of the facts and pursued the issue, the higher ups failed to correct the behavior. An entire team is getting mistreated every single day and most cannot do anything about it because they relocated for this job or need the money. Aside from this personal experience, employees are paid a small hourly wage with an overload of work that is not possible to complete during their shift. Employees are expected to work off the clock and on their off days without getting paid because it is an hourly position.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take this feedback very seriously as Trunk Club is committed to paying hourly employees for all hours worked. If you have experienced otherwise, please reach out to your dedicated HR Business Partner or HR@trunkclub.com, so this can be properly reviewed and addressed.

Pros

Good benefits, 100% match 401k. Ability to learn loss prevention field through detailed training.

Cons

LPM work life balance non existent. On call 24/7, #1 on alarm call list, response is required in the middle of the night. Some weeks I would recieve and make 40 phone calls from and to the stores, on issues that arrised. Agents eliminated at store level, meaning lower level employees are being brought in as service ambassadors, which turns into the LPM show for innovation on shrink reduction, store training, etc. Having the agent role eliminated at store level, loses the ability to attract better talent for the program. SA position is a revolving door, because the potential for promotion into higher role has decreased. LP team stretched to bare bones. If you're an LPM and your team member calls off, guess what, you have to work! It should not be that way. Working 10 days straight and only getting paid 6, is not right. You should have 2 days off every 5 days worked.
