Doesn't care about family

Pros

I just recently got fired because my daughter was admitted to the hospital. I wasn't allowed to use my vacation time that I had...

Cons

No family life. Doesn't work with you if you're a single parent. Can't use your time you earned. Long hours.

Growing company, but used to be better

Pros

Advancement opportunities, good benefits, stable company.

Cons

Micromanaging parent company with sometimes unreasonable demands, too much effort goes towards internal reporting and 'story telling', work/life balance can be challenging at times, high turnover and lots of new staff = constant training, antiquated systems, swipe in/out for salary employees, employee morale is on the decline.

Overconfident and Isoloated Upper Management

Business Outlook

Pros

Job security, Reasonable pay and benefits, Offers opportunity to gain employment at all skill levels in multiple rural locations

Cons

Upper management is isolated from reality operating in an environment of overconfidence in their ability to plan/manage without input from those they control. Each crisis is reacted to with a new procedure loaded on top of existing systems that are dysfunctional and not followed. It is very frustrating to make efforts toward improvement only to be blocked by entrenched poor business concepts and archaic systems. Employees will not stay when there is no path to success and no recognition of extraordinary effort.
