Pros

Ideally this is a great opportunity, and perhaps for some, it is. But, maker sure you read all of the fine print in the contracting and ask plenty of questions.

Cons

Changing things way too fast. They say one thing one week and then do the opposite the next week. You are an independent contractor, yet if you are late getting back from lunch or dont adhere to your schedule they put you on " outbounds". While the calls are MOSTLY inbound, a good portion of the people calling in are completely unaware that they are calling for final expense life insurance. Most are poor and you spend close to an hour trying to convince them to buy a policy then you have to get payment information and hope the policy sticks.

Thank you for your candid review. As you said, this has the potential to be a great opportunity for the right people. We are not just looking for employees or insurance agents. We are looking for people who are serious about their success and want to partner with us to help each other grow professionally. We are growing and that is not just a testament to our success. It is really a testament to all the agents and employees who are doing incredible things with us and making an incredible income! That said, when companies grow, small issues in efficiency which may have been easy to overlook suddenly become larger issues that need to be addressed as they can significantly affect the bottom line for all of us. We ask our employees and agent partners to act with integrity. That means when you say you will be here at a certain time, you follow through on your word. We do not make a schedule for our insurance agent partners. They make their own schedule and they give it to us a week in advance. If something changes they need to let us know as soon as possible, because we are scheduling and paying for live inbound leads from television commercials to be delivered to their business. If they are not there when they said they would be, we have to act quickly to avoid financial losses. Sometimes that means you will need to call back on the leads that have come in during your absence before receiving anymore live inbound leads from the commercial. If this happens too often with one agent partner of ours, we will need to make some decide whether their business is a wise investment for us anymore. If we can count on them to be there when they say they will, the answer is probably no. 98% of our agent partners understand this and appreciate our wilingness to work with their custom schedules. As for most of our customers being poor, that is true. Most of America is living pay check to pay check, though, so why are you surprised? Most people have to discriminate what they will buy and what they won't based on their budget. But that is why it is called "Sales." Thank you again for your response and I would like to encourage advice to us in the future. Respectful constructive criticism is always welcome! We wish you the best in your future endeavors. -North Star Insurance Advisors

Pros

work from home is awesome. no wear and tear on vehicle. Don't worry about "no-shows", traffic, weather, etc, etc, etc... Great training on how to take control of the call, need to be very enthusiastic.

Cons

Very high pressure sales for the customer. You are trained not to believe what the customer says. You don't take anything they say at face value. If you feel uncomfortable doing this type of sales, you will not last. VERY IMPORTANT! If you quit, any sales you made, you will get a bill from American Amicable to pay back all your 9mo advance commission of 50% from AP, because of your resignation you will not be submitting new business to offset future chargebacks. Don't get me wrong, there are MANY making BIG BUCKS on this platform. I was not one of them :( I just have to suck it up and pay the chargebacks, AAARRGGHH!!!!
