Do Not Work There

Pros

Lunch Room, Good Parking, they treat you to lunch when working OT

Cons

Watch yourself if you apply there, due to they are very nice when you walk in the door then the fun begins, there is no training at all, you watch one of the employees (trainer) do their production for 2 weeks with NO "hands on training" and keep in mind you can not take any type of notes yes that's correct NO notes I was told if I do I will be fired. After 2 weeks of NO "hands on" training your required to pull your weight with a 80 to 100% accurate production. At no time did the manager come to me and ask how my training is doing, or ask is there any other thing we can do to improve training for you, your a ghost to them. The whole time I was there all the employees stab each other in the back and will throw you under the bus in no time. The management only thinks of their own hide and not of you at all. (example, if you do 85% production and your coworker does 89% management will come out with his list and attack you asking why are you not at 89%) One hispanic came into the lab and said these white people dont know what they are talking about, then an asian woman said if you work with too many asian people they think they are all that, WOW asian racist woman against her own kind..lol! Do not expect to get paid pay what you think your worth (15.00 per hr) and you have the same responsibility as an engineer. Also there is no room for movement at all so if you think of a big company with advancement trust me look elsewhere. As fare as a pay raise..lol think 1 or 2% Again STAY AWAY!!!!!!

Lack of Management, CONSTANT Turnover, & Culture Issues

Pros

If you get employed at Nova you most likely won't get fired because they're so desperate to keep people. Good 401K matching.

Cons

There is no training, you are thrown into the job with no guidance. Management is not trained either so there's limited ability for them to actually help/manage their teams and no opportunities for you to develop. I had to ask for performance reviews because they "weren't important" to my manager. Lots of people don't hit the 1 year mark, with many teams having someone leave every 6-8 months. The biggest red flag of Nova is the company culture. There are many people who consider it "family" as they've been employed here for 10+ years, and that seems to give them permission to treat new/lower employees like garbage across all departments. HR tries to help but can't get anything accomplished. Company politics are brutal. WFH technically isn't allowed per policy, but some departments just do it anyways and don't get in trouble. If your manager doesn't believe in it, you don't get to WFH, even though 90% of work could be done remotely. There is not equal treatment across the company in this sense, so if you want to WFH you shouldn't apply as it's entirely dependent on your manager, not company policies. There is some diversity in the company, but no Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). They don't do anything to support minorities at all. I would NEVER recommend any friend or family to start at Nova because of my experience, so I wouldn't advise any strangers on the internet to do so either.
