Pros

There are some very talented engineers in the company who understand modern technology. They are passionate about coding and make the work worthwhile. The company does actual good for society in terms of education, knowledge and information.

Cons

Work from home policy is applied unfairly, even among individual teams. Managers let their pets work at home full-time while others have to work a rigid schedule. The open-office plan on the 4th floor is noisy and distracting, making the unfairness even worse. All this does is breed resentment among teams. There isn't much financial incentive to work hard. Raises are miniscule. The diffference in raises between a hard-working employee and a marginal employee is literally ~$200 a year. Promotions are nearly non-existent and based on tenure rather than accomplishments or skills. The CEO cares more about looking good than doing good. I wish the CEO and executives would stop pretending they care about diversity. Faking it is worse than doing nothing and gives false hope to marginalized groups. Let's face it. Middle management is awful. The company is too lazy and cheap to properly interview candidates so they promote whoever happens to be physically available.
