Pros

Really smart people work here.

Cons

Extremely biased toward men. Good ol’ Boys club. Typical: men get promoted on their potential; women have to prove themselves. NOT a diverse & inclusive work environment.

Pros

The company's IT department has huge opportunities to become an industry leader. They have spent hundreds of millions of dollars for "Cadillac" tools. The power generation, transmission and distribution departments are professionals that strive for customer, member and stockholder satisfaction. They are great customers to work with.

Cons

OGE like any company has issues that can be overcome with enough time and money. But in the mean time they lead to tighter budgets, longer hours and less than ideal working conditions. More specifically: 1. No common corporate vision to help drive cohesion between departments 2. Education and professional experience are no longer the primary considerations for staffing. 3. OGE IT's dogmatic adherence to a failed process has driven themselves out of relevance . 4. Inability to accurately forecast work effort, lack of process maturity , lack of qualified personnel and a guiding principle to purchase the latest hype products regardless of a budget to maintain systems has created customer dissatisfaction and distrust.

Pros

encourage volunteerism, amazing health insurance - single person pays $40/mo for full coverage and company gives $500 - $1000/year to help cover costs. match 401(k) at 200% up to 6% of your income. great pay.

Cons

upper management isn't concerned about the day to day operations and concerns from non-management employees. HR is a joke. They don't protect/represent the everyday employee, but lower and upper management. EVERYTHING is being outsourced and job stability is gone. No one seems to be safe. people who have been there more than 20 years are being laid off because of outsourcing. This used to be one of the best companies to work for if you wanted to work your entire career for one company. This is not the case any more. It's really disappointing how this company is taking away from the local economy by outsourcing to India and other states. For instance, when you call customer service, most calls are outsourced to a place in Texas. Management isn't trained before given a position. There seems to be no training if a manager hasn't managed before.
