√The guests!!! They are truly wonderful and diverse. Excellent opportunities to meet new people and enhance guest skills for later. Great airport environment (pearson as a whole) √Decent wage when management balances shifts adequately √Table iPads a very useful tool for both guests and staff √Relative flexibility using hotschedules.com (direct comm. with staff)
Cons
√Breaks are enforced as per management convenience. Only to appease regulations √Management may schedule you to work with 3 hours between shifts (or less), then √Management will require you to correct your own schedule by finding replacements √Management will harass and attempt to intimidate including profanity as a matter of unwritten "policy" √Most (enough) management is in the low to mid 20's. Relative immaturity and incapacity make this place dangerous for anyone serious or needing steady income and work √Ill equipped logistically. Management responds after consistent prodding to basic needs such as cutlery levels, basic sanitation, pest control √SEVERE RAT INFESTATION AT HEIRLOOM Terminal 1 Pearson Airport -Pest control is woefully inadequate and it's been open for less than a year. The problem is it's carpeted and food gets stuck in between the tables and the seat posts. the staff break area is a real compost bin as staff hardly cares and leaves all manner of food scraps and trash on the carpet. Besides being an ideal breeding ground for all manner of pests, management incapacity ensures this is never addressed properly or even close to seriously √Management is selected based on compliance, not skill √The POS system is much more of a liability than it is an asset knowing there are better
