Pros

Overall, I liked being a part of an organization that continuously tries to make a positive impact in their community, and I had great coworkers.

Cons

Low-pay, very average benefits, and NO opportunity for advancement. Corporate finance is using very dated technology and systems for financial reporting. This has also caused some of the turnover issues that the department has seen in both staff and management. OhioHealth does not promote from within and prefers to bring in an outside specialist for new positions. New employees are often overwhelmed by the challenges within the system, and take off sooner rather than later. This increases the burden on more dedicated long-term employees, who do not see an increase in pay or title for their efforts. I feel that most of these issues are generated by HR, who do not adequately recruit qualified talent, and only grant promotions based on years of experience, and not by the quality of employee performance. Managers are often burdened by the framework established by HR and have a difficult time retaining their top talent.
