Pros

Cask' work culture thrives on collaboration. Coopers are always willing to jump in and lend a hand to a colleague. Achievements are noted. Expect to be recognized for the good work you do. Solid benefits package. Access to senior leadership is unique to any company, but Cask's executive team will respond to you when you reach out. Excellent work-life balance. You don't have to worry about taking time off. There are no penalty points for going on holiday. Their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee isn't just window dressing. They hold regular events and have started many, meaningful conversations at Cask. The people you will meet there are amazing. I'm in regular contact with several people there, since leaving.

Cons

PTO is accumulated only. No sick days. Three days paid bereavement leave. In many cases, salaries fall below industry standards. No structured ServiceNow training for new employees. Seems a bit top-heavy on the senior management side for a company its size. Not a dig on Cask, but consultancy life can feel unstable at times.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences working at Cask. We especially appreciate you highlighting our culture of collaboration and the continual work we are doing in the area of DEI. We do have a formal compensation analysis process that aligns our job roles to industry standards, and we regularly review this data in an effort to remain as competitive as possible. We encourage open communication between employees and their managers regarding pay. Training is a big investment at Cask, and we expect managers to work with new employees to outline a development plan including ServiceNow certifications where appropriate. We know this is an area we can continue to improve. We appreciate your constructive feedback and will incorporate it into understanding of how we can do better.

Poor Director / VP Management

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

You will be 'challenged' every day to 'grow' into things the business clearly does not understand.

Cons

Extremely poor management from mid-level up through the 'new' VP layer that reports to the CEO. Project managers are not skilled in the field they claim to manage. Resourcing does not understand how to staff folks correctly on multiple projects. There is virtually no coordination between upper management and practice "Directors". Several "Directors" have never actually worked in the consulting space before coming to Cask, which is a very large red flag for any client.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are surprised by your impression that several directors at Cask have never actually worked in the consulting space before coming to Cask. In fact, those with director titles at Cask all have consulting backgrounds (collectively over a century of consulting experience) on top of significant domain experience which enables them to genuinely understand the needs of our clients. As a mid-sized company, we do not have many layers of management which allows for more direct collaboration and we see significant coordination among and between teams. We have been working hard to reinforce our engagement management organization (EMO) with the best tools and training to support our rapid growth. We have made significant progress in the collaboration between EMO, Resource Management, Sales, and Delivery (including our practices) to more efficiently and effectively scope and staff projects. We are working on learning and iteratively improving every day to give our employees the best experience possible, and we will incorporate your feedback into understanding how we can do better. If you’d like to provide more information, detail on what you’d like to see done differently, or additional suggestions please use our internal feedback mechanism Officevibe. We find this tool to be very informative and helps us consider ongoing improvements. Comments in Officevibe are reviewed frequently by leadership and Mark Larsen, our CEO, reviews all of them personally.
