Pros

- The CEO had great vision at the time but was overshadowed by day to day managements own ideas and implementation - Technology is still great and rock solid - Grand brand awareness from customers and industry experts - Great people in pockets across the company with heavy knowledge and expertise for learning and shadowing (when and if given the opportunity) - Remote employee and no hassle travel booking and reimbursement was great

Cons

- Technology starting to age compared to the industry and market. Keep innovating and they should be able to keep up and maintain share but the look and feel (per customers) is starting to show - No team feel or teammates. It was every person for themselves and saw constant back stabbing within our West territory team. At times even encouraged by management and senior management - Sales leadership was replaced with the prior CEOs buddies that completely changed the engagement and message of the company internally - The West sales team leadership I have never encountered (in my pretty lengthy tech career) a more abusive, hostile and outright nasty environment and self serving mentality with no care of direct reports or any professionalism. Hopefully OpenText addresses based upon prior and current employee feedback and prior HR was not helpful and only encouraged positive reviews on Glassdoor (an actual company initiative at one time).

Pros

decent office space - generous coffee selection -

Cons

lack of communication - real communication - they are great at presenting feel good stories - but forget about getting guidance and goals for the company. Seems like the acquisitions are buy it and forget it after thought. You know like all those trinkets you pick up at the local swap meet or flea market. never to be seen again. I believe Forbes said - slow death of 1000 cuts.

No matter how hard you work, you still get crapped on

Pros

The only pro I have is that you can work from home, and that is only within certain departments. The benefits are good as well.

Cons

WOW, where do I start? Acquisitions are the common place, and with that comes layoffs. Even if a department is busy and thriving, you are not safe from the layoffs, as is what happened with our department, leaving a few of us left to cover the work load. You'd think with stepping up and working harder, taking on new tasks with a smile and overall just taking on double the work load you'd at least get more than a tenth of a point higher on your review!
