      Pros

      Besides the opportunity to stay remote post-pandemic, not much. Even if you drink the punch, they'll eventually kick you.

      Cons

      Inconsistent and egotistical. Throws gobs of money at ridiculous items, then refuses to hire additional help. Some leaders appointed just because they know top leadership. Anyone who is in a position of authority should be trained to be a leader, not a dictator.

      People are amazing and opportunities are endless

      Pros

      Been at the company for 5 years and it has experienced crazy growth in that time. PEAK6 had 300 people in 2018 and now has 2000 across the portfolio. It is a company of companies, all of which have been in growth stage, all of which have experienced expected growing pains. With that growth comes tons of opportunity for those that desire it. It is a 25 year old company with a start up mentality, decisions made quickly and you must be able to be agile and pivot. It is a place that you can have ten different careers and never have to leave. It is not for everyone and that is said from the start. Its for those that have an entrepreneur spirit, a passion for working hard and adding value, have a sense of humor, love to learn and grow, thrive in being challenged - personally and professionally, geek out on solving problems, and okay with having very active and passionate founders. The people are amazing and endless opportunity to try new things.

      Cons

      This is not a 9-5 job. PEAK6 becomes part of the fabric of your life and you will find yourself invested in its success, no matter what your role is. The founders care deeply, and therefore are active in day to day operations. If you have an ego or don't play well in a sandbox with others, this is not the place for you. We are small and scrappy, we run lean, there is no work that is beneath anyone. If you prefer to lead and delegate, you will find yourself challenged. We are operators and we get our hands dirty.

      Terrible leadership

      Pros

      Very flat structure, great for networking, some smart people

      Cons

      Very toxic culture. Constant change and instability in management. Lots of lies, changing of plans, lack of acknowledgement of accomplishments, and no regard for employee’s desires or careers trajectories. If you’re a minority, you will find it very difficult to fit in this place
