      Pros

      PEAK6 is an awesome company to work for. I am challenged every day and come home from work exhausted. However, I am still excited and motivated to go back in and do it all again the next day. It's a competitive atmosphere so you really have to push yourself to stand out. At PEAK6, hard work pays off. The office space is impressive and can attract people to the company on its own. The parties are even better. When I meet new people and they ask me where I work, I am proud to say PEAK6.

      Cons

      It's difficult to find any negative aspects of working for PEAK6.

      I like the vast majority of the people I work with. I am challenged every day.

      Cons

      Pay is low. Despite sitting very close to so many people, I don't know many of them.

      I’m glad to hear that you feel that you’re challenged and you find the work rewarding. I’m interested to hear your feedback on people not knowing each other. I’m not sure if you were at Andy Stefanovich’s talk last year. As he started asking questions to employees in the room, he hit on a similar theme around how everyone doesn’t know each other well enough. As the firm has grown we have new people in various areas and haven’t focused enough on cross-team interaction. We created a dedicated Culture Team out of these discussions, and that team looked at how to build stronger connections across all groups with some initial steps.       Good balance between small and huge. Financial culture without the edge

      Pros

      Working in a few different areas/roles, there were plenty of opportunities to find something you liked. It's ok to stumble a little.. the organization helps find a role that fits you and them if you have potential. Sometimes the culture and rumors make it sound like that's not the case. It's a no non-sense and fact oriented culture, which for me was a plus. Don't expect to BS your way to success. Less cutthroat than typical financial/trading stereotypes, however. It's no startup, but you can have an impact.

      Cons

      There's a feeling that it's constantly in transition. They want to keep everyone adapting and changing.. sometimes that doesn't land for most. It's probably the root of most of the reviews here mentioning lack of focus.
