Colleagues who become more like friends

The constant loss of experienced, high-performing account managers should be a major red flag, yet there seems to be little acknowledgment or understanding of why it’s happening. The atmosphere in the office is tense and draining,stress levels are high, and morale is at an all-time low. The commission structure is completely out of individual control. A large portion of earnings depends on the performance of other teams, which makes no sense and has never been properly explained. Any attempt to get clarity is met with vague answers or silence. Hard work simply isn’t recognised or rewarded fairly, and even the incentive schemes feel arbitrary and demotivating. It’s difficult to feel driven when the entire team feels undervalued. Targets are often unrealistic and disconnected from the reality of the role. Despite this, expectations continue to rise with no additional support or resources. As more people leave, workloads increase, but recognition or compensation never follow. The result is a cycle of burnout and frustration that leadership seems content to ignore. I’m sure the “People and Culture” team who look over this review will have some comments to make, but I think you really need to look internally as all your problems are right in front of you.

Pros

The account managers are really great. Everyone gets on well

Cons

Management are so rude, and are so far removed, they don’t have any idea what is going on. Client services is a dwindling division with lots of people wanting to leave. The staff are not treated nicely and management that don't even speak to the floor have favourites who sit right outside the important offices. At every opportunity, the business makes a point of setting impossible targets so people are not paid. Pay reviews are not given and they do not look after the staff to try and keep people happy. We have many meetings about changes being made, then changes are removed again. On a daily basis, there is someone else getting upset. I feel sorry for people that aren’t in the favourites club as people are trying their best and always punished.
