Pros

This company has an awesome culture and definitely wants its employees to thrive and grow, and Enjoy working for the company. Staff across the company (at least from what I've experienced) feel comfortable sharing different challenges being experienced in the role, knowing that they are able to share and look for a solution without being punished for it. I've felt very welcome and encouraged since I arrived. My supervisor has encouraged me to learn as much as I can so I'm not in an entry-level position forever, and that's definitely something I'm seeing in other roles as well. Team leads want to grow and improve, and want their team members to improve

Cons

I live in Canada, and the company is based out of the states. There are some process differences which are being frustrated when it comes to trying to streamline/match processes across the border. At least for the role I'm in, there aren't a lot of documented processes, and requests to make a formal, written process have been ignored sometimes. This isn't from leadership, but just from other members of other departments. Depending on your work, you definitely have to be willing to push and advocate for changes that you want. While there's communication from the executive level and down about how the company id doing, communication between departments is sparse, so silos are a bit of a challenge.

Pros

Small company feel, great co-workers, good offices, clear lines of authority and communication, try to make work "fun", very autonomous work environment, some promotion from within, extensive and available training opportunities

Cons

Growing so fast they can't keep up, feels like they are only barely in control, raises/promotions not transparent at all, scheduled reviews are sporadic, offices very spread out so direct contact with supervisor is impossible, absolutely everyone feels very overwhelmed and have the workload of at least 2 fte- except for those who do nothing, but are protected or favored!, constant shuffling of supervisors and work responsibilities

Pros

If you do good work you are recognized and are appropriately rewarded. Size of the company keeps the bureaucracy to a minimum. Great people to work with. You are given the freedom to find and do the kind of work that interests you and build up your personal reputation while building up the company as well. As an employee owned company decisions are made based on what makes sense for the long term not to maximize the shareholders next quarter profits.

Cons

It is sometimes difficult working across office locations. This can cause challenges in getting work done efficiently and getting to know people involved in your projects.
