Pros

Good benefits. Payed time off. Friendly co-workers.

Cons

Working here was good for the first few months. Then my position changed to a role I was unqualified for and my salary decreased significantly. There wasn't much training for this new position, other than some articles that were given to me to read. The lack of support and training didn't set me up for success. This is the third solar company I've worked for and most likely will be my last.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Our sales team has undergone changes to keep pace with our growing market opportunity in the last year, and as our new Chief Sales Officer, I've implemented a strategy that is aimed at bringing more stability to our sales organization. It’s unfortunate that your experience was impacted the way it was, and if you were still at Palmetto I would have liked to spend time with you to understand where/how we could have made your experience better. As a company, we have evolved over the last few years and we appreciate how hard our team has worked to move along with the changes. My door is always open to anyone who would like to share a challenge and talk through potential solutions.

Pros

unlimited PTO, some positive changes are slowly being made. very slowly

Cons

Senior management does not support or advocate for the advancement of people working hard beneath them. There are multiple promises made that are never followed up on and many employees remain stagnant. They rarely promote from within and just add more and more people at the top so everyone else essentially gets demoted. There is no raise structure and merit based raises are a myth. There is a lot of talk and little action. The company is great for people that are compensated fairly. They talk about culture all the time, but it's a culture that again, benefits people being paid fairly. It's not the company's fault that it had to become fully remote, but they have really dropped the ball with the transition. It's so incredibly unfair at how different people and departments are treated, when everyone is working hard to move the company forward. The complaints in other reviews are valid and anyone criticizing the negative reviews are elitist and an insult to other departments they know nothing about.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. As we continue to grow as an organization, it’s imperative that issues like this are flagged and addressed. At the time this review was written, it’s true that we did not have a documented raise structure or review cycle. Because of feedback like this and under new People and Culture leadership, our team rolled out a performance management program aimed at creating equity in advancement opportunities across teams and we’re in the midst of completing our first merit review cycle. I’d strongly encourage you to share your thoughts confidentially and in greater detail with me or anyone on the People and Culture team so we can address other disparities that you’re seeing in your function. Thanks again for your feedback. We will use this to strengthen our culture and look forward to more.
