Pros

Get to set your schedule a month ahead of time. Medical/dental/vision Decent Salary for the work expected Have a minimal say in who your assistant management team will be. Worked well with my District Manager.

Cons

No room for Growth from GM. Constantly hiring from outside the company for the next level up from GM. Not consistent with necessary metrics to enter the Joint Venture partner program. ( monthly profit sharing/bonus program)

Pros

They have Flexible hours and usually a friendly staff. It on depends what store you work for.

Cons

Managers, managers, managers, oh and the managers. The managers are either incompetent, pick their favorite employees and stick to them, or aren't very nice at all. Maybe 1/3 of panera's managers are okay. Also %90 of people working at panera are part time. Also, the starting wage is $8, and you're going to be doing a lot of different tasks. I was a delivery driver and would get stiffed about %15 of the time. They advertise that delivery drivers average $14 to $17 an hour. After taxes, gas, and maintence on my car, and spending a whole year as a driver, i was averaging $10/ hr. There are lunch shifts where you can make $60 in a couple hours, or $20, it's just the luck of the draw as a driver.

Pros

Supportive managers and coworkers. Some of the patrons can be interesting customers to deal with and will sometimes take advantage of the motto, "The customer is always right." Tuesdays "Bagel Pack Deal" became every day should be bagel deal day. During very busy customer traffic times sometimes the staffing levels were too low to meet and exceed the customer expectations. Overall the work experience was very positive and the repeat customers a joy to get to know. The training and videos were very helpful for associates and managers. Had some great managers! Worked with great colleagues who had a great sense of humor. They made coming to work fun!

Cons

The yearly raises relative to employee's track record and diligence was a bit low at times.
