Hi there, Thanks for sharing your experience. It's important that we use these reviews both to reinforce positive practices and to address the areas where we can improve. For starters, PerfectServe does not tolerate discrimination—full stop. We've consistently made it a priority to foster an inclusive work environment throughout our entire organization, and any evidence of conduct that undermines these efforts is taken very seriously. We understand that members of the trans community, in particular, are facing a fraught political environment and a great deal of uncertainty these days, so we're more committed than ever to welcoming people from all walks of life to our team. Because of some extraordinary demand during residency season last year, we did have a three-month stretch where we asked all of our support agents to put in five hours of overtime per week to ensure we had the appropriate queue coverage for our customers. It was the first time we had ever mandated overtime, and it's not something that will become a regular business practice, but we made sure all of our agents understood our reasoning, that the extra time would be distributed evenly, and that everyone would be compensated appropriately for their efforts. We would never "bully" an employee into doing work. And finally, we spend a lot of time thinking about compensation. All of our frontline workers in the support center make above minimum wage—we actually instituted a $2/hour raise across the board at the end of last year to make sure our hourly rate remained competitive and well above minimum wage level. These employees are critical to our business, and we pay them accordingly. Again, thanks for your feedback and for the time you spent with us. - Jeff Brown, PerfectServe COO

Pros

They made the switch to remote work; which is a pro.

Cons

Where do I start, leaders are fired or hired or promoted without clear direction. The leaders in place appear to be hand picked for no apparent reason other than their relationships more than their ability to lead and enact positive change. Org chart looks like an upside down pyramid, more big titles than actual ppl to get the job done. Extremely high turnover!! Its apparent that employees dont want to work for the leaders that are in place, but the leaders are still there. Must change at the top in order to activate true change. Oh yeah, they announced a diversity group at one point, put never hear anything from that group, then found out that it was employee led. Guess the executives had better things to do. Poor work life balance. It appears that the ship is sinking. No culture to speak of, mostly just vain talking about culture but nothing in actual practice. In a nut shell, just stir clear unless you just need a paycheck until you find your next gig. Private Equity ownership could be a pro or a con, in this case it appears to be a con.

Reviews like this aren't easy to read, especially in a public forum like Glassdoor, but it's important (and humbling) for us to hear this so I appreciate your willingness to engage. Your review covers a lot of ground and since you've moved on to another organization, my goal in responding to your review is primarily to address your comments around our culture and the leadership at PerfectServe. In my experience, culture isn't static or something to be consumed, but it's something that's cultivated and influenced by everyone at the company. The leadership team at PerfectServe does shoulder significant responsibility to promote an environment and culture that is healthy. I'll make sure to send your feedback along to all members of our leadership team as well as the culture team to make sure this feedback is considered in both groups. Positive change isn't easy and while PerfectServe is performing well on many levels both for our customers and our investors, we still have a lot of work to do to engage our team in these successes. Truly, I'm grateful for your feedback and sorry that your experience here wasn't more positive. I'm hopeful you're able to bring the lessons you learned here to make your next workplace a great place to work.

Pros

Location is OK. Onsite food available.

Cons

Senior management is not very bright. Their so-called CTO is a horrible boss and the CEO is gutless. Further, this is a company that allows certain long time senior leads to get away with verbally abusive behavior to many employees that should net them a lawsuit. Company is at best simply floating where they are with no significant growth. Outsourcing jobs was a slap in the face to all of the company US-based employees. One wonders if senior management and their private investors simply did this to line their own pockets. Disgraceful management and a truly crappy product.
