Pros

There are no "pros" for PetsFart.

Cons

Done zero w/ Pet360. Borrowing more $$$$ to acquire Chewy. Given Mr. Misery's success w/ Payless Shoes (recall bankruptcy filling early April 2017), Hopefully Chapter 7 filing here,

Pros

Easy to be passionate about what you do, helping animals. Team-members seem to care about each other. You can bring your dogs to work.

Cons

Overbearing work schedule, extremely unrealistic expectations of turnaround/deadlines on projects. Expectation that nights and weekends belong to the company. You are made to feel guilty if you use a vacation day to spend time with your family. Only way to be promoted is to have come from Payless Shoe Source. Long-time PetSmart associates are overlooked and "under qualified" for positions they have been training for for years, but if you came from Payless you can expect to be promoted within six months. All the compassion is gone from the company and they are very comfortable with burning out associates to the point where people quit out of anger. They are of the mentality that anyone at anytime is replaceable and they would rather hire someone new than invest in company culture. All of these things in more were relayed to HR on multiple occasions and by many associates during exit interviews but they are a closed door. They stick to their old accolades received while a publicly traded company (Top places to work in Phoenix, etc.) despite the fact that the company and culture that received those awards are dead and buried. Management has no clue what the next level of management above them is looking for, causes constant rework and redundancies.

Pros

They have really nice co-workers in there, I see lots of hardworking associates. The manager Andy works along with the other workers to keep them motivated. I really respect that. They also have open door policy, if you have a problem with another co-worker, you can talk to the management team to resolve the issue. This is the job that is great for people who are seeking entry level job. The job is easy and fun. Has to be good with customer though. You can also learn to take care of the small animals through this job.

Cons

Despite how much you love the animals. The sad reality is that you cannot support your living with this job. Most of the workers are living with their family members to save up. Not going to lie, you are going to deal with dead animals sometimes, and it gets you a bit depressed after times. It also gets more depressing to see more animals in the backroom fighting with each other because of limited amount of space. I do love working in here for awhile, but the fact that we are selling animals as retail items did make me feel uncomfortable, and wondering the moral side of this business.
