      Great employer for the right person.

      Pros

      Good enviroment to be in if you love animals. Customers want to shop here and employees want to work here compared to employees in other retail enviroments. Industry insulated from many of the concerns about the economy. Competitive compensation package.

      Cons

      Certain field managers should not be positons they are in. Removal from these positions can be slow or non existent leaving them to do damage to the store staffing. This is a dynamic retail enviroment. You want to love animals to work here but it is still a business.

      Pros

      You get to know lots of interesting people.

      Cons

      You have to clean up dog sh*t or any other type of animal waste which presents itself. Petsmart has stupid promotions that they expect you to PUSH down customers' throats. Store management didn't know sh*t from shinola. Even though they didn't know anything, they'd still go ahead with anything they thought was a good idea even when everybody else knew it was a bunch of sh*t. Management is often a bunch of bean-counters.

      Pros

      Working with the animals and helping their owners to find the best products that are offered by the store.

      Cons

      The low wages and employee morale are a definate downside. There is very little positive feedback to employees and much negative feedback. Training is minimal.
